Vacation 2009

we had a nice vacation. I think Astrid had the most fun. She was on a mission to find the most sea shells and all the different kinds. There are 500 known different kinds on the beach there. She is now a shell expert and knows the names and anything else you could want to know. She also got to see manatee, stingray, and crab among other little sea creatures in their natural environments...not in an aquariaum or zoo. It was hot but enjoyable and we got to meet another relative from the christenson side....the girls great aunt Margot. We loved her.

More for Gigi

The top blury one is Margot's Senior High picture. The next picture is the blended Christenson and Fredrickson family. Mark is the oldest boy in the back with the cheesy grin. Next is James Christenson's military id. Then is Andy and Ella (merle's parents). And last is James Christenson and his daddy Charlie (on the right).

Pictures for Gigi

the top picture is Sjur, Marta and their children Andy, Ollie, and Tena. The next picture is Eric, girls, and his Aunt Margot. Next is James Christenson's navy pic(I have one that is not blurybut clicked the wrong one) and under that is Grandma Merle. The last one is Andy, Ollie and Tena again.

Art Show

Well the art show was today. Astrid won first place for the picture of the race horse. She drew it with pencil. The animal framed by purple is also hers. She had to design paper and then combine 3 parts of three differnt animals to make a new animal. She combined horse, dog, and bird. Ingrid made a truck out of wood. She did not win but it made it to the show. She was proud to have something there. Astrid also had a clay seahorse in the show she made and painted but she did not want to take her picture by it. She was ready to go as soon as we got there.

What we have been doing

Well Astrid wanted blue curtains so we took her cream colored ones and rid dyed them blue this afternoon. She is very proud of them. Now she wants a quilt to go with them so I will think on that and see what we can do. We also dyed Sigrids princess canopy that hangs around her vanity Pop bought her. It was white and now it is purple. Ingrid and Sigrid are getting ready for their dance recitals. Ingrid has this spanish ballet costume and she also has a red flapper jazz outfit. Soccer is over for this season and I think Astrid is probably a little bit glad. Now her time is hers...and she wants to share it all with POP. Hope all of you are well.....

Happy 4th Birthday to Sigrid. She has had a great day. She got a new purple Bible from her Gigi, three new pairs of earrings from her Pop and when she opened her card from Pop and Gigi there was 2 $20 bills to which she replyed Thanks for my $300 dollars. From Eric and me she got a Tinkerbell toy, a small purple box with chapsticks, hand sanitizer, lotion, and deoderant in it, 2 outfits and a new purple suitcase that says Going to Grandma's. Ingrid made her cake in the shape of a bunny...it was beautiful and delicious and Astrid gave her her old bedroom furniture since she is getting new furniture for her birthday. It is a glorious day....we are blessed with a beautiful, smart, and sweet 4 year old, 7 year old, and soon to be 9 year old.

Today's work

This is after and before instead of before and after. Well I finally bought the fabric I had been eyeing. I have my fingers crossed that it will not show the girls food spills so brightly as my last covers. I bought enough of it though that if it does show spills I can recover the chair and it will all look pretty again. I looked at walmart for wood soap to wash the chairs but couldn't find any....Helen what should I use?

Sigrid is sick

Well for the second night this week I have slept with Siggie which means one thing...I have not slept. Last night she ran a low fever and was fitful with dreams. She was sure she her foot had fell off at one point. Most of the time she was fighting the covers....kicking them off and then pulling them on. She also would just get out of bed and stand up for a while. All I know is I am ready for naptime. She is pleasant this morning and no fever but she is weak and coughing. Pop has agreed he will keep her tomorrow and they will eat candy all day. So I fear friday night it will be up with stomach aches.

Been Tagged

Aunt Helen, Since mom bought us a new hard drive I do not have 6 folders. I only had 4. So here are some pictures I took this week. The end of Astrid's b-ball game, Ingie in the stands, and Siggie going to a birthday party. She was the only girl and dressed herself. She was upset because none of the boys commented on her outfit or shoes.

Here is more......

Helen the vanity above was mine before I had children. It is very nice pine. It has been upstairs with my sewing machine and Astrid has used it to display her model horses. After Christmas Astrid had the idea to give it to Ingrid. Sigrid got a toy vanity from Pop and you could see Ingrid admiring it even if it was a toy. Well it had a seat cover that was a manly navy, green, and burgundy plaid. So today while she was playing, I took some of the money you send and I fixed it with a girly purple and pink fabric with gold sequins. She loves it. Then she made cinnamon rolls for Pop to have with his coffee in the morning. She did it all and they look delicious. I can't wait to cook them in the morning.

Here is one thing I bought Aunt Helen

I bought these frames and mats yesterday for the girls' pictures. Erin came in the fall to take a family picture for me to put on my Christmas card. It was after church and Sigrid was hungry and tired. Astrid had basketball practice in an hour. Erin had worked and not been asleep and I am sure Clayton wanted his momma. Anyway, in the span of about 10 minutes Erin took 46 of the best pictures of us. These were three of my favorites of the girls. The style now is black an white so these individuals I did that way. I also did a family one, and one of just the three girls but I did them in color.
Now Aunt Helen with the rest of the money I am going to buy material and redo my dining room chairs. Who knew three little girls could be so messy when they eat. I will post a picture of those soon for you but I have to find the material first and at the right price.

cookies

Here are the cookies the girls made for Santa, themselves and for Pop. Astrid is not in the pictures she had to run off to Pops as soon as she was finished. They are working on puzzles. As I was taking the picture Sigrid spilled her plate and broke all her cookies. She cried for a minute and then was off laughing and playing....sorrows forgotten. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas. We love each of you.

Sigrid

Well...last week Siggie cut her hair at school. She was suppose to be cutting out Joseph's coat of many colors. It is up over her left ear and was very short on the back left side also. She didn't make it to the right side of her hair.....the teacher caught her and was horrified. Her teacher was upset when she told me and couldn't believe I wasn't upset. We went today and the beautician fixed it beautifully. On tuesday's my bosses daughter comes home with us. She just had a new baby and I take the girls to dance after school. Siggie loves to have a friend over....she feels so grown up.

Halloween night

Here are the girls. Astrid a witch....she wouldn't put on any make-up. Ingrid a mermaid with a pixie wig and make-up and Sigrid the flying unicorn. We had a fun and safe night. After trick or treating we came home and made halloween dinner. We had mummy wraps and ghost s'mores.

Muscadine Jelly

Muscadine Jelly is the best. Ingrid and I went to a lady that I work with's house on Monday evening and scavenged what berries we could find. I had to boil and smash them twice to get enough juice for this batch. I have one jar already in the fridge we have been eating and I gave mom 3 or 4 jars.
